Typically, it is taken at bedtime when needed. It works faster when taken without food. Only take zolpidem when you will be able to stay in bed for a full night’s sleep. Within 7 to 10 days of first starting zolpidem, your insomnia should improve.  This medication can become habit-forming, so follow your doctor and pharmacist’s instructions exactly when taking triazolam. Some common side effects include drowsiness, unsteadiness, lightheadedness, headache, and problems with coordination. Zolpidem can also make you feel drowsy the next day, so avoid driving and be careful not to fall until you know how the drug affects you. Additionally, some people have reported performing actions they no longer recall while partially asleep (such as driving, making phone calls, or having sex). Using this medication in conjunction with certain other medications or alcohol and street drugs can increase the risk of dangerous breathing problems, sedation, and coma.
